Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 get PS5 upgrades and all-new trophy lists

Capcom has released Resident Evil 2 remake, Resident Evil 3 remake, and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard natively for PS5. Each is coming with a separate new trophy list, for which your progress can carry over from your PS4 version.

Capcom promised free PS5 upgrades for all the modern PS4 Resident Evil games, and here they are! Three Resident Evil games — Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard — have all been patched with a new full trophy list with extra DLC lists, too.

Capcom releases more trophies for PS5 updates

The announcement of a shadow drop of these three upgrades came during last night's Capcom stream. First of all, if you have Resident Evil 7 through PS Plus, you won't be eligible for the free upgrade. For the rest of you RE fans, though, saddle up: you are getting ray-tracing support, 4K modes, higher framerates, faster loading, and 3D audio. Save data can carry over if you want it to, and there are DualSense features to make your fingers tremble literally, rather than from abject fear.

As for trophies, each game is getting a distinct PS5 list with no new additions. Capcom has highlighted several which might cause trouble over on the website due to save transfer issues. Capcom outlines this: "If an auto or manual save was not made after satisfying the conditions to acquire a trophy, that trophy cannot be carried over." In addition, note that some RE7: Biohazard DLC trophies won't auto-unlock — we have italicised them for you.
