Crash Bandicoot multiplayer brawler reportedly in the works

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,

Toys for Bob, developer of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, has apparently taken on the task of a new multiplayer entry into the legendary Naughty Dog incubated series after working on Call of Duty: Warzone.

While Activision may have put the Bandicoot into hibernation during Toys for Bob's time dropping into Call of Duty: Warzone, but its work on Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time in 2020 hasn't been forgotten. Windows Central writer Jez Corden has caught wind that the bucktoothed marsupial is going multiplayer (via GamingBible).

New Crash Bandicoot game from Toys for Bob

Corden, speaking on the Xbox Chaturdays podcast, was part of a panel talking about a fresh Crash Bandicoot game. Rand al Thor 19, host of Xbox Two and also on the panel, stated: "I think Toys for Bob will show up with a new Crash game.”

Corden responded: “New Crash? I wonder where he got that information! I wasn’t supposed to leak that. I think we could see another Crash Bandicoot. It’s not just going to be a new Crash Bandicoot, it’s going to be a multiplayer Crash Bandicoot. It’s like a four-player brawler almost, but Crash."

Jez Corden has been a reliable source in the past, but context is key here as it is unclear if this is an educated guess or a leak passed off as a guess at the Xbox Bethesda Showcase. Until official word from Activision Blizzard, this whole rumour should be ready salted. We also have the Summer Game Fest approaching, so it could appear there. We here at the office are huge fans of Warner Bros. Games' MultiVersus — which Luke called "secretly amazing" on TA — so there would be serious competition in the space.

So, Crash Team Royale is the name, right? There, I've named it, I failed to get it into the article title (curse you Senior Writer Sean), and tried my best to make it a fun reality. Let us know if you want it to be yours in the comments!
