PS Plus classic version of Dino Crisis spotted on store

Dino Crisis, the beloved Capcom PS1 game, might be getting a re-release as a classic as part of the new PS Plus. After releasing in Asia, players in Hong Kong have spotted PS5 store artwork with the game front and centre.

Capcom's third-person action PS1 game Dino Crisis features dinosaurs, horror, and plenty of survival. In fact, when the publisher announced the new dino-action game Exoprimal, all anyone could talk about was how much they missed the old favourite. Well, hopes and dreams might be realised sooner than expected after Dino Crisis artwork was spotted by folks on Twitter, ResetEra, and Push Square plastered all over the PS Plus advertising on the PS5's version of the store.

Is Dino Crisis coming to PS5?

With the PS Plus rollout in Asia already providing plenty of details like the extended games lineup and the new trophy policy for old games, it has seemingly outed a future PS1 classic. On the artwork in both the English and Cantonese versions of the Hong Kong PlayStation Store on the PS5, the artwork clearly shows Regina in the left panel — the protagonist of Dino Crisis. The game is not currently part of the lineup and hasn't yet been announced for the future.

Considering that this artwork would have taken actual work and been planned in advance, as well as being positioned in a very public place, Dino Crisis must surely be at least being planned for release. Since it was spotted in the Hong Kong store, it might not make it to the west as a PS1 classic — but we think that that would be unlikely. It will be interesting to see if it does release and whether it might join the ranks of PS1 games with a PS5 and PS4 trophy stack, although it would be the first non-first party classic to do so.

Would you be excited to see it make a comeback? Surely those controls have to be fixed up a bit though! Let us know in the comments below!
