By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,

In a world dominated by FIFA 22, Fortnite, GTA V, Call of Duty, Elden Ring, Apex Legends, and the rest of the money-raking big names, My Name is Mayo 3 still manages to make a mark as it enters the top 40 PlayStation games.

Thank the condiment/dressing gods that My Name is Mayo 3 was released this week because it is the only game making this week's sandwich worth eating. Here is the top 40 PlayStation Gameplay Chart for the week ending May 22nd, 2022.

Chart compiled using gameplay data from over 837,000 active PlayStation accounts. Chart information is copyright TrueGaming Network.
Elden Ring has slipped a place, conceding ground to the ever-present Fortnite. Both, though, were pipped to the post by FIFA 22 which is on PlayStation Plus this month. It's not even that close, with FIFA scoring over 40% more gamers than Fortnite in second.

Between these three and the mighty Mayo rests Tribes of Midgard, which has dropped a humongous eight places from 13th to 21st. In the process, it has lost almost 35% of it players week-on-week, and we are sure it'll drop again. Meanwhile, Curse of the Dead Gods has held up reasonably in comparison, dropping down to 27th from the 21st place position where its PS Plus stablemate now sits.

There's not a whole lot of meaningful movement elsewhere on the chart, with most of the position changes just being games sliding up to fill the gap left by the plummeting PS Plus games (well, except FIFA). Battle royale newcomer Bloodhunt takes a nasty knock, though, falling 12 places to 37th as players run out of content into which they can sink their teeth.

This week sees the release of a few games that could pop up here next week to mix things up — Sniper Elite 5 is the biggest, and it'll be interesting to see whether its inclusion in Xbox Game Pass over the fence will have a knock-on effect here as it certainly seemed to with Outriders and MLB The Show. Will it land its shot? We'll have to wait until next week to find out, but you can go ahead and speculate all you like down there in the comments in the meantime!
