The Witcher 3 for PS5 release window narrowed

By Sean Carey,

The PS5 version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt now has a new release window, with CD Projekt Red confirming we can expect the updated version of the RPG in Q4 2022.

The PS5 version of The Witcher will be free to all owners of the PS4 version of the game. Originally, CD Projekt Red had it down to launch in 2021, but Geralt's next outing has been delayed numerous times, with the most recent delaying it indefinitely.

Now, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the current-gen versions of The Witcher 3 are planned to launch in Q4 2022. The developer recently took the project in-house to finish its development. Previously, Saber Interactive was leading development, but it was taken off the game last month.

As is standard with PS5 versions of games, we should have another batch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt trophies to work through when the PS5 upgrade launches later this year.

Are you looking forward to this one? Do you think CD Projekt Red will deliver the goods this time? Let us know.
