Capcom teases big plans after Monster Hunter's roaring success

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,

Capcom's financial results have yielded new information about the rest of its game releases for 2022 and early 2023. Exoprimal, Pragmata, Street Fighter 6, and Resident Evil could be on the table.

The Capcom presentation and overview of its financial year is resoundingly positive, with the Japanese publisher and developer reporting the fifth straight successive year of profits. However, the most enticing aspect of its results was its FY22 game lineup plans for "multiple major new titles."

The known quantity for 2022 is the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion for PC and Switch. While that particular title isn't PlayStation related, it's worth noting that Monster Hunter: World and Monter Hunter World: Iceborne are still selling like hotcakes with plenty of IP expansion plans on the way, including cafes and Hollywood films.

Following on from this though, Capcom is planning on releasing "multiple major new titles" in 2022 and early 2023. Upcoming "unforgettable adventure" Pragmata was delayed into 2023 so that mysterious game could be targeting that early FY22 period. Alongside that, we have Dino Crisis Exoprimal which also has an unknown 2023 release date attached to it.

In terms of legacy franchises, we have Street Fighter 6 announced but not dated. We also have Resident Evil 2 remake, Resident Evil 3 remake, and Resident Evil Village PS5 patches incoming. Then there are the endless Dragon's Dogma sequel and Resident Evil 4 remake rumours, as well as the potential for a PS VR2 rerelease of Resident Evil games. Capcom Arcade Stadium is also on the way, so prepare for an onslaught from the yellow team.

I think we are out of games now! Let us know if we have missed any, but we think we have it covered. What do you think of Capcom's upcoming year? Anything exciting for you? Let us know in the comments below!
