Medieval Dynasty developer wants you to farm goats on PS VR2

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,

Medieval Dynasty is a village-building sim-survival game set in the Middle Ages that has earned plenty of plaudits. Developers Render Cube and Spectral Games are seemingly aiming for a PS VR2 launch after Meta Quest 2.

Developers Render Cube and Spectral Games discussed the upcoming Meta Quest 2 port with Polish website x.isbtech.pl, which was then picked up by French website VRplayer (thanks, PushSquare). The game originally launched on PC in September 2021, but looks to be targeting a PS VR2 release at an unconfirmed point in the future.

Medieval Dynasty set for PlayStation VR2 release

Speaking to isbtech, the developers stated: "We believe that Medieval Dynasty VR will be a unique game among VR games. [...] We plan to release the game on Meta Quest 2 in the first quarter of 2023. Then we are aiming for the PC version. The game is also in the works with the PSVR 2 or PlayStation VR2, which we will take care of finalising after the premiere on PC VR."

Just in case you were as unaware of the game as us before this article, Medieval Dynasty is an authentic Middle Age simulation survival game. Your task is to build and cultivate a successful village. This involves building, crafting, and farming — then defending everything from occasional wild animals that stop by to feast on you. There is the main plot, side quests, and plenty of exploration to be had here, so colour us excited... really excited.

As of now, the developers have said, the teams "have already completed the design and pre-production phases. We have also completed one of four key production milestones, which includes the first part of the game's main map, and the basic playable mechanics needed to bring gameplay full circle. We have managed to optimise most of the graphics and create systems that are efficient enough to meet the challenge of playing "Open World" on Meta Quest. So far we are very pleased with the results."

Well, they have our vote. This is giving us those Kingdom Come shivers. Let us know what you think in the comments, and we will see you there!
