PlayStation Now loses 50+ games ahead of PS Plus relaunch

Over 50 PlayStation Now games have been removed — PS3 games in particular — ahead of Sony's reshuffle of PlayStation Plus into three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium.

Well, the time has come to say goodbye. Reddit and PSN Profiles have spotted that Sony has gutted over 50 games from the PlayStation Now catalogue with PS3 games particularly affected.

The news appears to signal that Sony is beginning the process of restructuring its subscription services ahead of the launch of three PlayStation Plus tiers in late May and June (thanks, PushSquare). Reddit user Cobra_Bite has published a list of 56 games leaving the service from May 3rd. The PS3 games on the list might return as part of the Premium tier, but it seems that many of the titles are SEGA published and so a set of licenses has expired. Thus, it might be that we never see these again on a subscription service.
