Syphon Filter series might be sneaking on PS5, PS4 as part of PlayStation Plus Premium

Four Syphon Filter games might be coming to PS5 and PS4 via the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription later this year after they were rated on the Korean rating board.

As spotted by Gematsu, the Korean ratings board has a listing for four Siphon Filter games on PS5 and PS4. Developed by Bend Studio, the games rated include PS1 games Syphon Filter (1999) and Syphon Filter 2 (2000), as well as PSP's Syphon Filter Dark Mirror (2006) and Syphon Filter: Logans Shadow (2007). This would suggest that the games are set for inclusion on the new PlayStation Plus Premium tier which offers backwards compatibility for PlayStation, PS2, PS3, and PSP.

Aficionados will recognise that both Syphon Filter 3 for the PS1 and Syphon Filter: Omega Strain for PS2 are missing from the listings — hence the assumption that this is for the PS Plus service and not a remastered collection. If true, and it seems likely given that it was literally in the hands of a rating board, this would also imply that some games entering the new Premium tier must be re-rated for modern audiences. That would suggest that the more than 300 games included might start popping up soon in separate listings. If that is the case: good luck to the Korean ratings board.
