Kingdom Hearts 4 in "early development"

By Sean Carey,
A new Kingdom Hearts game is officially in development! Square Enix announced Kingdom Hearts IV as part of the franchise's 20th anniversary celebration.

According to Square Enix, Kingdom Hearts IV brings an "epic new storyline" to the series titled 'Lost Master Arc.' In the trailer, which starts at the 4:07 mark after some Kingdom Hearts mobile stuff, we are treated to a brief gameplay segment where we see Sora taking on a huge enemy on the streets of Quadratum. Square says Quadratum is a "large, expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world unlike anything ever seen before in the Kingdom Hearts series." We also see Donald and Goofy make appearances towards the end of the trailer too.

Square Enix hasn't announced a release date or launch platforms and has said that Kingdom Hearts IV is in "early development," so we probably won't see much on this one for a while yet.

Are you ready for more Kingdom Hearts? Has the new trailer got you pumped? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments!
