PlayStation VR2 event rumoured as secretive emails sent — report

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
PlayStation VR2 has been unveiled from stem to stern, but we are yet to see the device in operation or on someone's head. That time might come soon, though, as new emails suggest a proper showcase is around the corner.

Insider, reporter, and otherwise well-informed Tom Henderson has noted that people have received an "Introducing PlayStation VR2" email (spotted by PlayStation Lifestyle). Similar emails, as Henderson rightly points out, were given out to press members shortly before the big PS5 blowout event that showcased the console, the price, and more. If true, then this would suggest an event revealing a few games, the price of the headset, the way it interacts with the console, and a few extra titbits will be shown at an event. We might even get to see the thing on someone's head and more of Horizon Call of the Mountain.

Interestingly, Henderson calls out VentureBeat reporter Jeff Grubb and Greg Miller — longtime IGN reporter and video game personality, now Kinda Funny and PS I Love You XOXO podcast host — suggesting that he is confirming information the pair had heard. Last week Miller tweeted and spoke about three rumours he had heard. One was the obvious PlayStation Plus revamp, the other was possibly the Haven Studios acquisition or another future team as alluded to by PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan, and the third was about a new PS VR2 event.

Well, we at TT patiently await our "Introducing PlayStation VR2" email and will keep you all updated and in the know. Meanwhile, let us know what you think about the rumours in the comments, and we will see you there!
