PS5 console-exclusive Forspoken delayed to October

Forspoken, the next PS5 console-exclusive RPG from Square Enix, has been delayed into late 2022 so that the studio has the time to get the game right. The new release date is set to October 11th, 2022.

Forspoken has had a strange life so far. We had the announcement as Project Athia, followed by a full reveal with an incredible trailer, which was followed by another trailer that, again, stunned. However, a gameplay leak from late last year took gamers by surprise: it didn't look so fabulous. While the situation was alleviated by the news that Forspoken hadn't been running on the optimal gameplay modes, it still left quite the dent in expectations.

Now the Luminous Productions team has announced a delay to the game from its original May 24th, 2022. The new release date has been set to October 11th, 2022. The team says that "during the next few months we will focus all of our efforts on polishing the game." More information should be coming soon. The game will be available on PS5 and PC.
