Cyberpunk 2077 auto-unlocked PS5 trophies still a "possibility"

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
Cyberpunk 2077's PS4 trophies do not import when the save is transferred to your PS5, giving the current-gen version a whole new trophy list to complete. However, CD Projekt Red is looking into adding auto-pop functionality.

Cyberpunk 2077 Trophies

Over on the CD Projekt Red forums, there is a thread hosted by community director Marcin Momot discussing the currently investigated issues with the PS5 version of the game and Patch 1.5. The team is looking into "the disc version not launching on PS4 after applying the patch." However, and more importantly for this community, is the fact that the team is looking into the "possibility" of introducing "PS4/PS5 trophies transfer."

The post goes on: "We are investigating our options but don't know if this will be possible and, if so, in the case of trophies, if it could happen retroactively." This leads to interesting questions about how Sony is implementing retroactive unlocking. As mentioned yesterday in threads by our community members, the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 trophy list, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered trophy list, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order trophy list, on top of those for first-party games like Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and Ghost of Tsushima: Directors Cut, all had auto-popped trinkets from PS4 to PS5.

We are a little confused as to why the team would be struggling, unless this is a Sony issue. Let us know what you think in the comments!
