Call of Duty: Modern Warfare sequel and Warzone 2 coming in 2022

Activision has confirmed that this year's Call of Duty will be a sequel to Call of Duty Modern Warfare developed by Infinity Ward, which is also heading up development on a new Warzone experience.

Details on the sequel and the new Warzone experience are scant, with Activision releasing only a few small titbits of information about what's to come in 2022. According to the CoD team, both the Modern Warfare sequel and Warzone 2 have been "designed together from the ground-up" by Infinity Ward and will utilise a brand-new engine. With Warzone 2, we can expect a "massive evolution of battle royale with all-new playspace and a new sandbox mode." Other than those few details, Activision is keeping quiet.

The CoD team also went over some of the fixes and changes that are coming to Call of Duty: Warzone with the launch of Season Two. Over 30 quality-of-life improvements are coming with the battle royale game's second season, including changes to "all forms of movement," a new Gas Mask animation that won't interrupt players who aim down sights, and a change to Armor Plates, which will soon refill a full plate of armor before filling damaged ones. Sadly, the team also announced that it has no plans to bring a Field of View slider to consoles. Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific Season Two is available now.
