Crysis 4 announced with concept trailer

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
Crysis is coming back for a fourth entry, Crytek announced yesterday. The game received a short concept trailer that reveals nothing at all.

Obviously, this is basically just confirmation that the fourth entry in the Crysis series exists and, Crytek revealed, is in “the early stages of development.” The teaser trailer indicated that Crysis 4 is a “Working Title,” suggesting the series might get an entry with a subtitle or a name change for the first time. The team has stated that it is “working hard to bring you a truly next-gen shooter," with no indication of a release date or production schedule. Even with limited details to go on, nanotechnology, an apocalyptic event, and the words “Join the journey. Become the Hero" do feature. Perhaps this is an indication of an Ant-Man cross-over during the events of Endgame? I am obviously joking there.

Crytek CEO Avni Yerli made a statement in the announcement post. “It’s something you have been asking us for a long time. So it’s now finally time to confirm – yes, the next Crysis game is happening!”

Crysis 3 hit shelves nine years ago and the Crysis Remastered Trilogy was released in October 2021. That should have been a good indication that a new entry was coming, but we saw no chatter about it during the time.
