South Park going multiplayer with new game in development

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
South Park appears to be making a big return under the stewardship of Question Games, but in a form not seen yet. We seem to be looking at a multiplayer title!

An official Question Games job listing over on the developer's website is requesting lead level designer with some multiplayer experience (thanks, VG247). Now, what is interesting here is that the listing is very clear that the multiplayer gameplay experience is central to the project. If this is a separate game mode or an actual multiplayer game is unknown, but staff writer Tom is now hyped for a potential South Park battle royale. The listing might give us an indication of the platform, too. It asks for experience in console development for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Question Games is a studio of industry veterans with games under the belt like BioShock, BioShock 2, BioShock Infinite, Dishonored, Thief: Deadly Shadows, and Ubisoft’s South Park: The Stick of Truth and South Park: The Fractured but Whole.

Last year, there was an email from South Park co-creator Trey Parker about a new game in the works, thanks to the Viacom CBS deal. It remains unclear if this is the same game as the one mentioned there, but that one mentioned a 3D game. Question Games is using the Unreal Engine, so maybe this is the one Trey was on about.

Hey, you! South Park multiplayer? Talk to us about it. Now. Comments.
