PlayStation's next State of Play event in February will feature Hogwarts Legacy — report

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
PlayStation's last bastion of communication for fans to get excited about is the online State of Play events that Sony puts on every now and again. Supposedly, another is coming in February to help illuminate the future PS5 lineup.

Insider, leaker, and reporter at various big video game outlets, Tom Henderson, has tweeted that there might be a State of Play event coming in February "based on this month's media events and past PlayStation dates." The reporter further teased that this might be "a pretty big one." When asked by PushSquare if this was purely speculation or insider knowledge, Henderson reportedly responded by saying it was a combination of both. Therefore, as always, take your digger to the salt mine for this rumour until Sony actually confirms the event is happening.

In the thread, Henderson gave a response to only one tweet asking about the appearance of Hogwarts Legacy, in which he repeated that the event would be "a pretty big one." In terms of more academic guesses from our end, we would suspect that if an event was to be held, it would have information about the three upcoming games on PlayStation — Horizon Forbidden West, Sifu, and Gran Turismo 7 — but try and keep other distracting chatter about PS VR2, Ragnarök, and Insomniac Games' two new games to a minimum. We will see what comes!

What do you think of the rumour? Do you hope it's true? Do you just want these games out of the way? Let us know in the comments!

Hey, I'm Kes! I'm a Staff Writer, and I've been here since 2021. What do I like? The Outer Wilds is top notch. The Witcher 3 blew my mind over the course of five years completing it. I want Burnout back — I really miss crunching mechanical wonders into walls to the sound of Guns N' Roses. Cool, now we are acquainted, I'll see you around.
