Half-Life: Alyx deal made between Sony and Valve for PlayStation VR2 — report

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
PlayStation VR2 is on its way and there is one game on everybody's lips — and it isn't Horizon Call of the Mountain. That game is Valve's groundbreaking shooter Half-Life: Alyx and rumours suggest that the game is coming.

With everybody talking about the game, Nick Baker of XboxEra has suggested that he has insider knowledge. According to Baker — in response to analyst Benji-Sales' pondering "if Sony and Valve will work out a deal to bring Half-Life: Alyx to PlayStation VR2" — there is indeed a deal in place, one that is an "open secret."

If a deal has indeed been made between Valve and Sony to get Half-Life: Alyx onto PlayStation VR2, it would massively buoy the virtual reality headset. Half-Life: Alyx is widely considered the most groundbreaking VR game thus far, and stands at 93 on Metacritic. To have it on VR, alongside the Horizon IP, would basically enforce the unit's attractiveness to the consumer with a AAA stronghold.

Baker has been proved right of late about his report that Firesprite were working on a Horizon VR game, so he does appear to have some inside knowledge of what is going on with PlayStation VR2. Obviously, though, take this with a pinch of salt.
