Hideo Kojima radio appearance suggests AAA project and anime

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
Hideo Kojima has confirmed the development of a new AAA game that "everyone will want to play" alongside an anime, according to a translation of an NHK radio show special called "The Wonderful Music of Video Games."

The translation was tweeted by Genki_JPN on Twitter — so bear in mind there has been no official confirmation one way or the other, as this is a fan-provided Japanese translation of the show. In the NHK radio show, Kojima allegedly said that he is making "a big AAA title that everyone will say that they want to play." However, Genki notes that Kojima apparently stressed that a major issue was a staff shortage due to the COVID 19 pandemic and that Kojima wants to make a non-shooter or open-world game of a smaller scope. On top of this, Genki reports that Kojima confirmed he is working on an anime, drama, and film, which are probably developed in his new LA-based film and TV production studio.

Kojima also seems likely to be involved in the rumoured Death Stranding sequel, and some reports suggest that Kojima and Xbox have brokered a deal of an unknown nature. Could this be linked? What do you think? Let us know all of your theories in the comments!
