PlayStation and Discord integration could be happening soon

By Sean Carey,
Last year, Sony announced PlayStation was entering into a partnership with Discord, and it appears that integration between the two could be happening quite soon.

Over on the official Discord subreddit, user jankesjt posted an image of their connections page, which appears to show an option for connecting PlayStation Network accounts. This post has since been removed, but the picture remains.

Back in May 2021, Sony entered into a partnership with Discord and revealed that full integration between the social media service and Playstation would happen in early 2022. Since then, we haven't heard, well, anything really, but the new image shared over on Reddit could suggest the partnership will bear fruit soon. It's unclear how this partnership will play out. Will it be similar to how Xbox consoles handle Discord and just display a status that shows the game you're currently playing? Or will we be getting a dedicated app that would make it easier to communicate with friends? At the moment, it appears it's just the former, but hopefully, we'll hear more from Sony and Discord soon.

Would you like to see a Discord app come to PlayStation consoles? Let us know down in the comments!
