Death Stranding: Director's Cut Intel leak suggests PC release

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
Death Stranding: Director's Cut is out already on PS5, bringing with it some performance upgrades and additional content. According to a VideoCardz Intel leak, Hideo Kojima's newest version of the game will be making its way to PC as well.

The leak from an anonymous source, which we found courtesy of VGC, reportedly gives way to the details of Intel’s CES 2022 Arc/XSS announcement. In short, XSS is a super-resolution streaming solution by intel to take-on Nvidia DLSS. This allows the player to stream high-quality gameplay without having the insane files of the native resolutions saved. In the leak, Death Stranding: Director's Cut is noted as a PC title.

"We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Intel for the Death Stranding Director’s Cut edition on PC," says the leaked announcement from publisher 505 boss Neil Rally. "Death Stranding has been a hugely popular game with PC players and we’re excited to see how Intel’s new XeSS technology will enhance player experience for Director’s Cut." There will be "exclusive integration into Kojima Production's Death Stranding: Director's Cut."

Death Stranding was released on PC by 505 in its original edition back in 2020, so this seems likely. Until officially confirmed, though, take it with a pinch of salt. Resident staff writer Sean wrote a fab review, stating that "the Director’s Cut is without a doubt how Death Stranding should be played."

Hey, I'm Kes! I'm a Staff Writer, and I've been here since 2021. What do I like? The Outer Wilds is top notch. The Witcher 3 blew my mind over the course of five years completing it. I want Burnout back — I really miss crunching mechanical wonders into walls to the sound of Guns N' Roses. Cool, now we are acquainted, I'll see you around.
