Trek to Yomi is a Ghost of Tsushima-style sidescroller, coming 2022

Trek to Yomi is a sidescrolling 2D (sometimes) action game inspired by classic samurai films. The latest trailer has a spring 2022 release window for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

Do you like samurais? Did you like Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima? Then it looks like this Devolver-published title is just for you. Everything about this trailer is dripping in old school samurai cinema influence. While the monochromatic art style is an obvious takeaway, we also love those highly symmetric and static camera shots of architecture and characters. The combat looks challenging in that 2D plain, too. Though it does seem to go a bit Fez and suddenly break into 3D exploration at times, which is very cool indeed!
