Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection appears to have no new trophies

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
Uncharted: A Legacy of Thieves Collection appears to be merging two existing games, suggesting the remasters will have no additional trophies. The collection releases on January 28th, 2022.

We had a report (thanks, BoolBordan) yesterday that players who already owned Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and/or Uncharted: The Lost Legacy saw each game added to a new overarching game. The new category is labelled Uncharted: A Legacy of Thieves Collection, containing the remastered versions of both games that were fully detailed yesterday.

There are a few oddities to point out here that suggest that the pair of games will have no new trophies. Firstly, though, we don't know if this is an error. It could be that the SKUs and game IDs for A Thief's End and The Lost Legacy have been accidentally used for the new collection. However, this seems unlikely given that both games have now been delisted from the PlayStation Store, suggesting Sony is well aware of what SKUs it is using for its products.

Secondly, it is worth noting that this might indicate the new versions of the games will not have new trophy lists because the existing platinums for these games and all of your existing progress has been merged under the new label. While the trophy lists remain distinct from Legacy of Thieves in your collection in the PlayStation App and the PS4/PS5 menus, your existing titles are already registered under the "In Library" tab for the Collection. This could suggest that your existing platinums will count towards the new collection, rather than forming a new list. As mentioned, this could also be a mistake on the back end, and your existing versions (and trophies) of Lost Legacy and U4 could be separated from the new SKU for the Collection release. Note that the games are still listed as PS4 only in the screencaps above, so a PS5 version might still be distinct from this group.

Thirdly, it is a little odd that the new multi-list of games under the collection also includes all of the Uncharted 4: Multiplayer. This had its own set of (pretty tricky) trophies. So, if the existing games are to be merged but the new collection has no multiplayer, it remains to be seen how the list will be handled. Will it still be a DLC pack for Uncharted 4 with a separate download?

In summary, it seems that Sony has already merged the two main games into the collection. This appears to suggest that the existing trophy lists will be used when the remasters are released. We will have more for you when the game scans into our database closer to the January 28th, 2022 release date. What do you think is going on here? Any further information or theories? Let us know and we will see you in there!
