Bioshock 4 first details given on PlayStation podcast — report

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
Bioshock 4 development details have been reported by the journalist-come-pundit who focuses on PlayStation news. If the details are true, we seem to have a better idea of the location, time period, and release date.

Colin Moriarty’s most recent episode Sacred Symbols video revealed the first sourced and corroborated details about the Bioshock 4 project from Cloud Chamber. In the video, Moriarty states: “Internally the game is very secret and apparently, totally locked up.” However, he has managed to use a few of his sources to pull together a few important details about the basics of the new entry into the dystopian franchise.

Moriarty noted that his two sources have both claimed that “it takes place in a 1960s Antarctic city called Borealis,” under the larger development name called codename “Parkside.” As Moriarty himself says, it is important to take this with a pinch of salt because the game is so tightly under wraps. This Bioshock was announced back in 2019 (TA link). At the time, 2K made it clear that it would be developed “for the next several years.” Moriarty adds to this by suggesting that Cloud Alas have been "incredible latitude to get it right.”

Ken Levine, the Bioshock creator, is not involved with this next project. "Apparently, the inclination there is that they understand full well that this game will be compared to what Ken Levine does,” reports Moriarty. “And by the way, [Take-Two] is also publishing Levine’s next game,” which is thought to be an “immersive sci-fi game with RPG elements,” from Ghost Story Games. The trio of Sacred Symbols hosts also goes on to discuss that it appears the rumoured original Bioshock remaster and this Parkside project are two different titles.

Sorry, we were a little late in getting this story to you! Well, what are we thinking here? Do you think the Antarctic would be a fun setting? Let us know in the comments!
