PlayStation Gameplay Chart: Call of Duty: Vanguard immediately enters the Top 10

Call of Duty: Vanguard is immediately shooting its way into the top ten, while the PlayStation Plus games have arrived in an odd order. Here is the top 40 PlayStation Gameplay Chart for the week ending November 7th, 2021.

Let's start with the obvious, Call of Duty: Vanguard has blitzed its way into 6th, pushing Far Cry 6 out of the top ten. With three days on the market, Vanguard has outpaced the high-install base of Cold War, and is only behind Modern Warfare. However, the Modern Warfare number is the number of Warzone players, so we can't see that particular title slipping away from the top. We will be able to give you more specific numbers next week, but it looks like this is currently the most-played PS5 game.

Also entering the top ten — this time at the expense of Destiny 2 — is the first of the PlayStation Plus games, Kingdoms of Alamur: Re-Reckoning. Now, this oft-forgotten RPG definitely deserves some time in the light, no doubt. However, we are quite surprised to see it top the three main PS Plus offerings of the month given that it is a single-player game. Normally, we see multiplayer games come out on top, and both First Class Trouble (12th) and Knockout City (15th) are both multiplayer offerings. Having three PS+ games show up in the top 15 is not unusual, but we feel like these latter two have room to grow as word spreads about them. Particularly in the case of the surprisingly very, very fun Knockout City, which might just keep wrigging upwards like Battlefield V managed to do when that was on PS+. It is worth noting that these latter two games are PS4 and PS5 games, but both have total player counts that are a rough 50/50 split. The PS5 is on the up!

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy has dropped two positions into 18th. However, if you consider that you have Vanguard, First Class Trouble, Kingdoms of Amalur, and Knockout City entering the chart above it, there isn't really much of a slip at all. In fact, given those four new entries, it is two places above the expected result with 80% of the total player count playing on PS5. Other major wins on the list come for Diablo II: Resurrected (27th), Bloodborne (39th), and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint (40th). All three come onto the list after time out of it, which is especially surprising in the case of Diablo given the beloved nature of the IP. However, all three charts were low-down on the list which would suggest they were common sale fodder or picked back up after being sidelined.

The continued absence of Riders Republic is absolutely mindboggling. It is currently down in 61st on our charts, suggesting that it would have a lot of ground to ride over in order to even scrape the top 40. Again, though, this feels like a Christmas 'boom' title, so we will see how it fairs in January.
