PlayStation PC label now in use by Sony for ports

Sony has made a new label for its PC ports of console exclusive games from PlayStation Studios and closely associated teams, suitably called PlayStation PC LLC. With two upcoming PC ports confirmed, Sony has clearly been stepping up its game for a little while now.

The new PlayStation PC LLC label was spotted on Steam, which was then speculated on by ResetEra users. The use of PlayStation PC LLC was spotted on the Day's Gone Steam page, followed by Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and Helldivers. VGC picked up the story and found a CorporationWiki listing. Sony registered the new label name in April through the centralised California headquarters.

This formally confirms Sony's intent on making PlayStation a PC and console brand, pushing those sales numbers higher than the current 19 million it expects from its highest sellers. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, God of War, and — it's rumoured — Sackboy: A Big Adventure are all coming to PC in 2022, so this new label is ultimately just going to help create a new identity for titles to fall under. With Nixxes purchased and probably already working on its first PC port, there really cannot be any doubt about what Sony's aims are at this point.
