By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
This week, Far Cry 6 continues to be a hit amongst PlayStation gamers. The rest of the chart, however, shows that the busy season has settled. Here is the top 40 PlayStation Gameplay Chart for the week ending October 24th, 2021.

Chart compiled using gameplay data from over 835,000 active PlayStation accounts. Chart information is copyright TrueGaming Network.
The top ten remains as it was, with Call of Duty, Fortnite, FIFA, GTA, and Apex all retaining huge player counts across all platforms. Ubisoft's Far Cry 6, despite dropping a place, is performing very impressively at seventh. Perhaps most impressively of all, the open-world FPS has double the player count of PS4 on PS5. The other online-focused games with cross-platform are only slightly skewing in the PS4's favour, suggesting that the tide is surging and more and more gamers are now on PS5 hardware. Destiny 2 hasn't quite pushed up as far as we thought it would after the big news last week that there was a limited time left for a certain raid, though in fairness it did jump up a single place to ninth.

It's actually very tricky to find much else of note across the chart as gamers' habits have stabilised after the major releases of the early part of this season have dried up. We have seen all three PlayStation Plus games for the month take a tumble, though. PGA Tour 2K21 has dropped by five places to 18th. Mortal Kombat X has also dropped five spots to 22nd. Finally, Hell Let Loose has dropped by eight spots to 30th. This is strangely a pretty good replication of the kind of steady drop off we saw from the PS4 and PS5 games last month, where the sports game held its niche audience for much longer than the other two.

Finally, it's worth noting that Fallout 76 is out and about in the chart, with the fact it was included in the PS Now game for October almost certainly boosting it up the chart. On top of that, the bombs are dropping in the game world in a big live event. It's must be great news for Bethesda to see the title back in favour. On an aside, the big new releases of Death Stranding and Demon Slayer have both slid down the list a bit, suggesting waning attention for the mid-tier launch games.

What do you think of the Gameplay Chart? Anything sticking out to you? We always try and include pithy comments that have spotted interesting things in the chart, so comment below!
