Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 PS5 versions delayed into next year

By Sean Carey,
Well, I bet you didn't see this one coming! CD Projekt has announced that the PS5 versions of both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been delayed until 2022.

Witcher 3

According to a post over on CD Projekt's website, the enhanced version of Cyberpunk 2077 will launch sometime during Q1 2022, while The Witcher 3 will release during the second quarter of 2022. On Twitter, CD Projekt Red said, "Based on recommendations supplied by teams supervising the development of both games, we decided to postpone their releases until 2022."

Both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 for PS5 were initially down to launch in late 2021, but an update from CD Projekt's Michal Nowakowski during an investor call in September hinted that both games could be delayed. There was a small glimmer of hope that the Witcher 3 PS5 port could be coming soon, as a strange PEGI rating listed the game with an imminent release date, but alas, that was simply a mistake.

PS5 versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will now launch in 2022.

What do you make of the delays? Are you annoyed that you're going to have to wait even longer to see Keanu Reeves in all his PS5-powered glory? Let us know in the comments!
