The PlayStation Mobile push seems to have begun as Sony hires new boss

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
Sony Interactive Entertainment seems to have begun its big push into the mobile space with a big hire: Nicola Sebastiani. The former Apple Arcade boss is now listed as working for PlayStation.

VGC found that Sebastiani is listed as a PlayStation employee on LinkedIn after nearly eight years working as Apple Arcade's head of content and, before that, the App Store's head of games business management.

In addition, VGC noted that there was a job listing for such a position a few months ago. The applicant would have to craft a three to five-year timeline for bringing PlayStation IP to mobile. This would suggest that Sony is in full swing with its push to mobile, as a board meeting in April also confirmed. WipEout Rush is coming to mobile in 2022, though no one seems that happy about it, considering that the PlayStation logo is essentially absent from the trailer.

Do you already have an opinion on PlayStation's big move to mobile? What do you want to see? Let us know in the comments!

Hey, I'm Kes! I'm a Staff Writer, and I've been here since 2021. What do I like? The Outer Wilds is top notch. The Witcher 3 blew my mind over the course of five years completing it. I want Burnout back — I really miss crunching mechanical wonders into walls to the sound of Guns N' Roses. Cool, now we are acquainted, I'll see you around.
