far cry 6 review

  • TrueAchievements: 9/10 "Giving us a classic Far Cry experience the whole way through, with a smattering of new ideas and fresh takes, Far Cry 6 is perfect for fans of the series."
  • IGN: 8/10 "Far Cry 6 smooths over a lot of the bumps that have cropped up in the past few games and even though it misses some steps, especially with its new inventory system, it's the best the series has been in years."
  • PC Gamer: 75/100 "Yara is super lush and wonderful to explore, but the story and main villain are predictable."
  • Destructoid: 7.5/10 "A fun, if overly familiar, tropical sandbox."
  • VGC: 2/5 "For a world that’s so vibrant, and starring an actor that can bring so much to a project, it’s almost unbelievable how little Far Cry 6 capitalises on it."
  • Rock Paper Shotgun: No score. "A gigantic open-world FPS that has you running between map markers to fell a dictatorship. It's undeniably fun, if a bit underwhelming."
  • Eurogamer: No score. " If you were looking for a sequel that would shake up the series and bring about a gameplay revolution, you're going to be disappointed, but if you enjoy that classic Far Cry collect-em-up grind and simply want a brand new sandbox to explore and explode, you're going to be far from bored with all that Yara has to offer."
  • Polygon: No score. "Ubisoft’s newest open world is frozen in time."

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
