PlayStation Now lineup for October revealed

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
The official PlayStation Now lineup for October 2021 has been revealed on the PlayStation Blog. This month features some huge games like The Last of Us: Part II, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, Fallout 76, and more.

The Last of Us: Part II

We all know exactly what The Last of Us: Part II is, right? A harrowing experience that will drag you kicking and screaming through the traumas caused by humanity's worst traits, Naughty Dog's detailed and emotional piece of art will evoke a reaction from you. Whether that reaction is positive or negative, it's worth playing to find out! The game will leave the service on January 3rd.

Fallout 76

Fallout 76 wasn't exactly popular when it was announced all those years ago. However, a change in fortunes have made the world broader, full of better dialogue options and questlines, and made social interaction a lot cleaner. It is an interesting inclusion considering the Bethesda acquisition by Microsoft, but a live-service game always needs players and PlayStation Now could potentially serve up a few million. Will you be jumping back into the wastelands?

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered

As someone who hasn't played the original, now might be the time to hop into Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. By some, it is regarded as the best in the series, outshined by the radiance of fan-love for Final Fantasy VII. With an underlying theme of war and a bunch of playable young mercenaries, you can be sure a dark tale is right on your doorstep.

Amnesia: Collection

Amnesia: Collection is all about the scares. There are three games included. The first is Amnesia: The Dark Descent, where you have to explore a damp and dark castle. Amnesia: Justine is an expansion of The Dark Descent, dealing with the mind games of a particularly troubled young girl. Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs has an eye for finding the worst in humanity and then making you play through it. Sounds horrible.

Desperadoes III

Okay, we had no idea what Desperadoes III was other than it was Wild West themed. Thanks to the trailer above, we now know there is a bride with a shotgun who is just blastin' some fools. That was all we needed for this top-down "hardcore tactical stealth game." See you in the desert!

Yet Another Zombie Defense HD

Yet Another Zombie Defense HD is exactly what it says on the tin. You put up fences and guns and traps and pray to the mighty undead gods above that you survive. Simple? Yes. Effective? Absolutely.

Victor Vran: Overkill Edition

Another one we had no idea about before taking a peek around the internet, Victor Vran is another top-down game. This time, though, you explore the worlds that the band Motörhead have created in their music. Big on combat, broken realms, and RPG elements — you can call us intrigued.

That is quite the amount of games to get through! Are you happy with this bunch? Anything you are dead set on playing now? Let us know in the comments!
