Horizon VR game being made by PlayStation Studio Firesprite — report

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
A rumour is currently placing the new PlayStation Studio Firesprite on a Horizon PS VR project, but the source doesn't know if it is an experience or a game. If true, that would suggest that Firesprite is highly trusted by Sony.

The news comes from the Xbox Era podcast (via GamingBolt), where the source, co-founder Nick Baker, says, "I have been told that [Firesprite] are working on a Horizon VR game. I asked, is it a Forbidden West VR? Is it a Zero Dawn VR? Is it a separate thing set in the Horizon universe?

“I didn’t get told if it’s a full-blown game like Half-Life: Alyx, or if it’s an ‘experience’ like that Batman thing. That part I don’t know,” Baker said. This partially makes sense from Sony, as PS VR 2 is coming out next year and Firesprite made The Persistence and The Playroom VR. However, in a recent interview, it was made clear that the team had a "game-changing huge multiplayer shooter and an ambitious dark narrative blockbuster adventure" in the works that were well outside the normal "core offerings." So, we would take what Baker says here with a digger full of salt until something official is confirmed.

In addition, it is worth noting that a fair amount of Baker's predictions about PlayStation events and the contents of alledged events have been continually incorrect. Though, from the sounds of it, plenty of insiders missed the mark as the event got shoved and pushed back, as well as chopped and changed for content, continuously before the eventual PlayStation Showcase.
