F1 2021 gets Portimao circuit in its latest free update

By Heidi Nicholas,
A free content update for F1 2021 adds in the Portimao circuit, the Aston Martin safety car, and performance updates, with more circuits to be added later this year.

Over on the F1 2021 site, the devs add that Portimao "sits just half an hour outside the city of its namesake. It’s a track well-known for its elevation changes, boasting 15 truly glorious corners to race around." Portimao will be available in Time Trial, Grand Prix, Real-Season Start, and online. Today's update also adds the Aston Martin safety car, with the Aston Martin Vantage available in Bahrain, Monaco, Canada, France, Great Britain, Netherlands, Singapore, Russia, Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Abu Dhabi. Lastly, today's update includes a performance update which enables the cars to be "much more reflective of what is happening on track right now." Because of this change, the devs will also be wiping the Time Trial leaderboards.

There's more free content to come, too, with the Imola circuit arriving in October and the Jeddah circuit following in November. What do you think of today's update? Let us know in the comments!

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
