Non-league football club Wrexham, which happens to be co-owned by the celebrity duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, will be playable in FIFA 22, EA Sports and the club have announced.

In a statement on Wrexham AFC's website, the Welsh football club that currently resides in the fifth tier of English football announced that it had entered into a "multi-year innovation partnership" with EA Sports to bring the team to FIFA 22. Wrexham AFC will be playable in the game's Kick-Off mode and can be found in the Rest of the World category.

Reynolds and McElhenney bought the club last year, with Reynolds at the time saying that he wanted to turn Wrexham into "a global force."

EA Sports will also be supporting Wrexham AFC's work off the pitch in the local community "via an initiative with Wrexham Glyndwr University and the provision of a community lounge at the Racecourse Ground in the future," the club said.

FIFA 22 launches for PS4 and PS5 on October 1st.
