We like a bit of earned hype, right? Aspyr Media's Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake for PlayStation 5 and PC was announced at the PlayStation Showcase, but no one really knew what the exclusivity deal was. Now we do!

The inevitable PlayStation Blog revealed the news that the fan-favourite RPG remake is a "console exclusive on PlayStation 5 at launch." Though it isn't explicitly stated, that makes it sound like KOTOR will arriving on other platforms after launch.

Additionally, the post clarified exactly what the remake will be remaking. It is being built "from the ground up with the latest tech to match the groundbreaking standard of innovation established by the original, all while staying true to its revered story," says lead producer Ryan Treadwell.

As for the team behind it? Well, Aspyr Media are responsible for porting Star Wars Episode I: Racer and Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse to modern consoles, as well as KOTOR to iOS.

We've seen the comments and we know you are excited! But what would be your ideal upgrade? Let us know in the comments!
