PlayStation's Housemarque and Hades dev Supergiant love each other's work

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
Isn't it nice when we can all just get along? Hades' creative director — Greg Kasavin — was very complimentary about PS5 exclusive Returnal, and, in turn, developer Housemarque has praised Supergiant's work. It's just so lovely, you know?

Over on comingsoon.net, creative director of incredible roguelike Hades — Greg Kasavin — said that he was in love with Returnal and developer Housemarque.

“Returnal is one of my favourite games this year so far,” says Kasavin. “I have not cleared a run, dammit, but I’ve played like several dozen hours of that game. I’m pretty deep into that game. Housemarque is a super cool developer. I’ve been following their games for years.”

In fact, the dev was really quite open about his endearment, going on to make some cool comparisons between Returnal and his own work in Hades and Bastion. In particular, he is fascinated with entwining the narrative with the roguelike structure of dying over and over again.

Indeed, Kasavin's fond love for Housemarque has been reciprocated. The Finnish studio tweeted the following:

Simple, but effective. We can feel the love (possibly that of the Eros variety) from over here. Supergiant returned the Cupid arrow with deadly accuracy in a follow-up tweet, just to say "thanks so much!! Our thanks to Selene for scouting out a good LZ!" Gosh, this is all just so nice.
