Press F to pay respects to Modern Warfare 3 remaster

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
After a remaster of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2, one would be forgiven for thinking that Modern Warfare 3 would get the same treatment. That is not the case, according to publisher Activision.

Iron Clad

CharlieIntel picked up the story, though we found it through Gamespot. In an unusual move, Activitison reached out to CharlieIntel about the incessant speculation of the MW3 Remaster: “A remaster of Modern Warfare 3, campaign or multiplayer, does not exist. Any reports otherwise are incorrect.”

This has been on everybody's radar for a long time, considering the enjoyable remasters of the previous two Modern Warfare games. The first was shipped in 2016 with Infinite Warfare's premium editions. Likewise, the second game was revitalised only last year with ties to the Modern Warfare reimagining. With a roughly four-year development cycle on the remaster turnaround, everyone expected that the third game was on the way.
