Jurassic World Evolution 2 devs detail scientists in new park management guide

By Heidi Nicholas,
Frontier has gone into more detail on scientists, a new addition coming with Jurassic World Evolution 2, in its latest park management guide.

Each of the scientists "have specific skills that influence the outcome of tasks such as fossil extraction, incubation, and dinosaur welfare," Frontier explains. On top of this, they each have different traits — like "faster research" or "positive influence" — and the devs stress the importance of having happy scientists, saying, "Keeping your scientists well trained and monitoring their stress levels will ensure tasks are completed quickly and allow for the smooth running of your park... an unhappy scientist could lead to dire consequences." If the sabotage mechanic in the first game is anything to judge by, we've got a pretty good idea of what could go wrong in Jurassic World Evolution 2, and keeping our scientists well rested sounds like a pretty good idea.

It seems we'll need to strategise a bit with whether to hire, fire, or rest scientists. They're pretty pricy — in the video above, one scientist was shown to cost $1,500 per minute, so we'll need to make sure we're bringing in enough money to afford them. They seem integral to dinosaur welfare, so we'll need them around, but if they don't get enough rest, they'll cause chaos. Just like the first game, it sounds like a balancing act.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
