PSN has huge outage, now back up and running

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
PlayStation Network went down for a little while over the last 24 hours, as you may have noticed if you were busy mopping up a few trophies. However, the issue is now resolved and you can get back to that Ganbare! Super Strikers platinum.

call of duty nuke

PSN, that wonderful matrix of online functionality, went down for a few hours yesterday. This included online play, digital game licences, profiles and account management, and the actual PS Store. It seems that the issues varied from player to player, but the DownDetector website noted a 38,589-strong spike in reports of connection failure.

According to PushSquare and PlayStation LifeStyle, the PSN Network Status page also flagged these issues for a while. It seems the issue was a DNS server error, which caused failed sign-ins, and thus the services outage.

Now things are back up and running, however. If you have experienced any issues, let us know! If you are continuing to experience issues, let us know that too so we can put a little PSA at the top of the article. Did anyone else get flashbacks to the Great PSN Outage of 2011? See you in the comments!
