Ubisoft hints at one-handed swords for Assassin's Creed Valhalla's next title update

By Heidi Nicholas,
One-handed swords could at last be on the way for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, as Ubisoft has hinted they'll be added in the next title update.

One-handed swords have been one of the most requested features for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, with players eager to switch up Eivor's attack style. The closest you can get to a one-handed sword at the moment is if you're wielding a seax or a dagger; otherwise, swords are limited to the two-handed variety. We don't yet have a release date for this upcoming title update, although Ubisoft expects its next update to arrive this month, alongside fixes for issues with the Mastery Challenge, main quests, world events, side activities, and the Wrath of the Druids expansion.

We'll update you as soon as Ubisoft confirms when one-handed swords will arrive. In the meantime — what do you think? Will you be switching Eivor to a one-handed sword straightaway? Let us know in the comments!

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
