At the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase we got a closer look at post-apocalypse Russia in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. The game is coming to Game Pass on launch, but we now know that the deal is only for three months of timed exclusivity.

Information about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was hard to come by before the new E3 gameplay trailer revealed that game is heading to Xbox Series X|S on April 28th, 2022 as a launch exclusive. Thanks to documents released as part of the ongoing Epic vs Apple lawsuit, we now know that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 isn't an exclusive for that long: only a "three-month console exclusive", in fact.

This comes as a little bit of a suprise, considering that the developer, GSC GameWorld, said to Gaming Bolt in April about a PS5 version: “No plans for now. We negotiated the possibilities with Microsoft and saw several good opportunities for the brand — including Game Pass.” Well, it goes without saying, but they must have been planning something because three months is hardly much time.

Is this a bit of a surprise to you? Or is it expected? Let us know down below, I know you guys like the exclusive talk.

Hey, I'm Kes! I'm a Staff Writer, and I've been here since 2021. What do I like? The Outer Wilds is top notch. The Witcher 3 blew my mind over the course of five years completing it. I want Burnout back — I really miss crunching mechanical wonders into walls to the sound of Guns N' Roses. Cool, now we are acquainted, I'll see you around.
