New PlayStation Indies highlighted at Summer Game Fest

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
The long-dormant head of PlayStation Indies Shuhei Yoshida took to the Summer Games Fest livestream to announce Ska Studios' Salt and Sacrifice, the sequel to Salt and Sanctuary.

Salt and Sacrifice is a 2D side-scrolling action-RPG. The trailer features stat screens galore and plenty of eldritch-looking enemy designs. Some of the mages crawl around like spiders and some are just really weird. Your character will be hunting them, spilling their blackened blood. The trailer also shows of some wonderful climbing through the varied environments. There will be co-op, local and online, ready for the game's release in 2022 on PS4 and PS5.

Shu also highlighted Chicory: A Colorful Tale, which our own Heidi has a great feature all about! Quite the contrast between the two.

Hey, I'm Kes! I'm a Staff Writer, and I've been here since 2021. What do I like? The Outer Wilds is top notch. The Witcher 3 blew my mind over the course of five years completing it. I want Burnout back — I really miss crunching mechanical wonders into walls to the sound of Guns N' Roses. Cool, now we are acquainted, I'll see you around.
