Days of Play 2021 announced

By Kes Eylers-Stephenson,
Sony has announced Days of Play for 2021 and it starts on May 18th and ends on June 8th. By signing up, playing a bunch of games and unlocking some trophies along with the community, you will be rewarded with PS4 themes and avatars for your PSN account.

On PlayStation Blog, three tiers of prizes are detailed. The first requires the community to play 2.4 million games and earn 7.2 million trophies, with stretch goals of 3 and 8.8 million, respectively. The rewards are a dynamic theme and avatar depicting the PlayStation symbols, with the bonus avatars of an AstroBot, a Gran Turismo 7 car, and Selene from Returnal.

The second selection of prizes requires 2.9 million games to be played and 8.5 million trophies to be earned. This will unlock extra avatars of Sackboy, Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima, Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn, Ellie from The Last of Us Part II, and a Demon Souls character (I think). For the bonus goals, 3.6 million games need to be played and 10.4 million trophies earned for a reward of, you guessed it, more avatars! This time there is another AstroBot, Abby from The Last of Us: Part II and a robot-dinosaur from Horizon.

The third tier of rewards requires 3 million games played and 9 million trophies to be earned, with stretch goals of 3.7 and 11 million, respectively. The rewards here are a Kratos avatar and a slick theme featuring some of the heavy-hitting PlayStation exclusives. The extended rewards are another set of avatars featuring AstroBot, another Gran Turismo car, and Atreus from God of War.

The final, cumulative prize is a Days of Play theme. In addition to these aesthetic goodies, there will be a PS4 and PS5 sale later in the month and a free multiplayer weekend. Take a look at these prizes in all of their blurry glory in the following image:

Are there any prizes you guys want? I'm all in on this third tier theme, even if I have to unlock the 11 million trophies myself. Just watch me, My Name is Mayo is calling! Will you go for any big platinums for the event? Hoping for anything specific on sale? Chat away in the comments.
