Manifold Garden arrives for PS5 next week

By Heidi Nicholas,
Manifold Garden arrives next week on May 20th for PS5, with owners of the PS4 version able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free. Check out the PS5 launch trailer below:

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Manifold Garden developer and designer William Chyr says, "The PS5 version of the game runs at native 4K at 60 FPS and loads very fast. If you want to load the game even faster, you can “Resume” from an activity card and begin playing the game within five seconds." Chyr adds that "the entire title supports the Official Game Help feature for eligible PlayStation Plus subscribers. Every puzzle in the main progression of the game is fully documented in solution videos without showing you puzzles you haven’t already seen."

According to Chyr, these PS5 improvements "really help build the unsettling and beautiful atmosphere, surrounding the player in an endlessly recurring sequence of geometry." The PS5 version of Manifold Garden utilises the haptics of the DualSense controller, with a "faint pulse" when opening faraway doors.

Together with iam8bit, the Manifold Garden team will be launching a physical edition of the PS5 version, with new cover art. The soundtrack is also getting some special treatment, with a 2xLP Vinyl set to be available, featuring two tracks "not found on any digital version of the soundtrack that accompany the alternate endings found in Manifold Garden."

Manifold Garden launches for PS5 on May 20th.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
