Overwatch 2 PvP livestream and developer AMA coming this month

By Heidi Nicholas,
New game director Aaron Keller has shared a developer update confirming two upcoming events which will give fans a little more info about Overwatch and Overwatch 2, as well as confirming more Overwatch 2 news will follow later this year.

Keller is the new Overwatch game director, now that Jeff Kaplan has left Blizzard. "We've been hard at work on Overwatch 2, and we'd like to share some of what we've been doing with all of you. In the past when we've talked about Overwatch 2, we've focused a lot on the co-op and story side of the game, but PvP is at the core of what makes Overwatch feel so special," Keller says.

First up, there will be an Overwatch and Overwatch League teams livestream on May 20th, during which they'll discuss the PvP side of Overwatch 2 and play on new maps. Next, there will be a developer AMA over on the Overwatch subreddit on May 24th, where the devs will discuss Overwatch development over the past five years. Overwatch itself is coming up to its fifth anniversary, and Keller adds that we'll learn more about Overwatch 2's PvP later this year. We'll keep you updated.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
