Sony to publish unannounced AAA multiplayer game from Firewalk Studios

Sony has signed a publishing partnership deal for a new AAA multiplayer game based on a new IP from developer Firewalk Studios.

Firewalk Studios, which falls under the ProbablyMonsters banner, was founded in 2018 and is headed by several industry veterans who have worked on big multiplayer games in the past. "Ryan Ellis, our Game Director, was a Creative Director on Destiny. Elena Siegman, our Executive Producer, was a producer on Guitar Hero II, Bioshock Infinite, and multiple Destiny releases. Our deeply talented team has helped bring to life franchises like Mass Effect and Apex Legends," said studio head Tony Hsu over on PlayStation Blog.

Hsu continues by saying that Firewalk is already "hard at work on development" of the new game and that the team has "been having a ton of fun playing" it.

No details on platforms or what the game might be have been mentioned, but Hsu says Firewalk will share more "when the time is right."
