Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade launches in June with free PS5 upgrade

By Sean Carey,
During Sony's latest State of Play broadcast, Square Enix announced Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, an enhanced and expanded version of 2020's Final Fantasy VII Remake, coming to PS5 on June 10th. Players who own the PS4 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake can upgrade to the PS5 version for free, but they'll need to pay extra for some new content.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade comes complete with numerous enhancements on the PS5. Square Enix says that the "expressiveness of the game’s lighting, texture, and environment has increased with the PS5 version of the game," and that you'll be able to switch between Graphics Mode, which prioritises 4K resolution, and Performance Mode, which targets 60fps. There's also a new Photo Mode for budding photographers to get to grips with.

In terms of new content, FF7 Remake Intergrade includes a new episode that features Yuffie. You'll play as ninja Yuffie Kisaragi as she "infiltrates the shadowy Shiara Corporation to steal a powerful material and restore glory to her homeland." You'll play alongside some new characters in an expanded gameplay experience, which includes new combat additions.

If you own the PS4 version (physical or digital) of FF7 Remake you can upgrade to the PS5 version of the game for free. However, the new Yuffie episode will cost you extra.
