Oddworld Soulstorm launches in April, PS5 version free with PS Plus

By Sean Carey,
Developer Oddworld Inhabitants has given us a look at Oddworld Soulstorm and has announced that the PS5 version of the game will be free to PlayStation Plus subscribers when it launches on April 6th.

In the extended gameplay trailer, Oddworld Inhabitants' co-founder and creative director Lorne Lanning gives us a rundown of what we can expect from the sequel to Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty. You once again reprise your role as Abe the Mudokon, who sets out on a journey to rescue more of his fellow kin from the evil Glukkons.

Lanning describes Oddworld Soulstorm as a 2.9D platformer, which gives environments more scale and depth. You're tasked with saving 1,000 Mudokons and will have to scavenge for resources and solve elaborate puzzles. The game also makes use of the DualSense controller's haptic feedback function, where you'll be able to feel Abe's heartbeat during suspense-filled action sequences.

Oddworld Soulstorm launches for PS4 and PS4 on April 6th. PlayStation Plus subscribers can download the PS5 version at no extra cost on the same day.
