Paradox Interactive has announced that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has been delayed indefinitely. Developer Hardsuit Labs has also been dropped from the game, and Paradox has now partnered with a new studio to finish up development.

A development update from publisher Paradox reads, "We have made the hard decision that Hardsuit Labs will no longer be leading the development of Bloodlines 2 - which also means that we will not be releasing in 2021 as previously planned." Paradox says that as it can't commit to a new release date, it's also halted pre-orders for now.

"This game is very important to us, and it has been an ambitious project from the very start," the statement continues. "In order to meet our goals for it, we’ve come to the conclusion that a change is needed and, as a result, more development time is required."

Paradox thanked Hardsuit Labs for its efforts with Bloodlines 2 but stopped short on revealing why the developer was removed from the project. In Paradox's financial end-of-year report, CEO Ebba Ljungerud said that Paradox has partnered with an unnamed studio to finish work on the game.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has suffered two other delays in the past and recently lost both its narrative lead and creative director.

Paradox hasn't given a new release window for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 but says it will be sharing more on the game soon.
