The Apex Legends Anniversary Collection Event arrives next week with free rewards

By Heidi Nicholas,
Apex Legends will celebrate two years since launch with the Anniversary Collection Event, starting next week on February 9th. Running until February 23rd, the Anniversary Collection Event features free rewards and Locked and Loaded as a playlist takeover.

When the Anniversary Collection Event arrives, Respawn says it will boost the Reward Track with 22 anniversary rewards, including two Event Packs and ten Apex Packs. You'll also get three stat trackers for Bangalore, an Apex Pack, and an event badge, "just for logging in for the first time."

The Locked and Loaded playlist takeover, meanwhile, starts you off with a kit of level 1 gear, while ground loot will only be blue and above. If you take part in the seasonal challenges, you can also earn some new badges: the Daily Discovery Nessie Badge for finishing 75 Daily Challenges, the Mozambique Badge for doing 102,816 points of damage, and the Smolfinder Badge by getting a win with eight different Legends. Plus, if you manage to deal 3,333 damage with the Mozambique, you'll also get the "Mozambique Here" weapon charm. The Anniversary Collection Event will also see the return of 24 "fan-favourite" items, all of which will be back with a new red and gold look. The crafting cost for Collection Event items will also be temporarily reduced by 50%, and if you manage to unlock every item in the event, you'll get 150 heirloom shards as a reward.

The Anniversary Collection Event runs from February 9th until February 23rd. There's not long to wait, but in the meantime, Apex Legends Season 8 just went live this week, bringing the new Legend Fuse, a reshaped Kings Canyon, the 30-30 Repeater rifle, a new Mayhem Battle Pass, a new Ranked Season, and Gold Magazines to automatically reload holstered weapons.

Hey, I'm Heidi! I've just finished studying a Masters in English Literature, but I've been obsessed with gaming since long before then. I began on the PS2 with Spyro, before graduating to the Xbox 360 and disappearing into Skyrim. I'm now a loyal RPG fan, but I still like to explore other genres — when I'm not playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or being lured back into Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3!
